The Cavell Nurses’ Trust is urging nursing professionals to ‘bake a difference’ for colleagues suffering hardship this May.

The charity is calling on the nursing community across the UK to come together in May to celebrate International Day of the Midwife on 5 May and International Nurses’ Day on 12 May by hosting bake sales throughout the week to raise vital funds for nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants in hardship.

Victoria Lewis, Fundraising Manager at Cavell Nurses’ Trust, said: ‘#RaiseYourWhisks will provide an opportunity for teams to come together, celebrate the wonderful nursing profession, show off baking skills, build and renew friendships over cake and tea, and raise vital income to ensure that no nurse, midwife or healthcare assistant has to face hardship alone.’

Last year, around 3300 nursing professionals sought help from Cavell Nurses’ Trust. the charity provides lisupport for nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants facing severe difficulties. On average, there are more than 60 every week, or 9 nursing professionals searching for vital help, every day. Many face worries of financial insecurity, mental health problems, homelessness and situations of domestic abuse.
