What made you choose the profession?

From the age of about 15 I wanted to be a nurse. But in the 1970s girls were not supposed to be nurses so it was not a career choice that received much acceptance. I had intended to do my training after leaving school, but I fell pregnant and decided to delay things for a while so I could care for my son. I finally started training when I was 31 after my son started going to school.

Once you did your training, where was your first post and how has your career developed over the years?
