HPV jab doesn't cause chronic fatigue

Cervarix - a vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) - does not seem to cause chronic fatigue syndrome, according to new research from the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

Cervarix - a vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) - does not seem to cause chronic fatigue syndrome, according to new research from the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

An analysis of Yellow Card reports and a UK database revealed that there had been no change in the incidence of fatigue syndromes in girls aged between 12 and 20 years after the vaccination's introduction. Another epidemiological analysis that enrolled 187 girls showed no increased risk of fatigue syndromes in the year after their first vaccination. The MHRA hope that the findings will offer further reassurance about the safety of the HPV vaccine.
