A conference on supporting people with mental health conditions to stop smoking will be held on 20 October at the Hallam Conference Centre, London. The event will update delegates on issues such as the importance of smoking cessation in improving the physical health, the role of drug abuse in serious mental illness, and the use of e-cigarettes to reduce smoking. Speakers at the event will include Dr Jonathan Campion, director for public mental health at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and Deborah Arnott, chief executive of Action on Smoking and Health.
