The RCN will host a conference on travel nursing on 19 September at the Royal College of Physicians in London. The conference, held in conjunction with Travel Health Training Ltd, will cover key topics for travel health nurses, such as the use of medications overseas, assessing and managing high risk travellers, and the implications of female genital mutilation (FGM) for a travel nurses. Speakers at the event will include Jennifer Bourne, project manager for the Department of Health’s FGM Prevention programme, professor Peter Chiodini, consultant at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, and Fiona Marra, national lead pharmacist for paediatric HIV.
