A conference to help nurses and other healthcare professionals support physical health in patients with mental health conditions will be held on 23 February at the Hallam Conference Centre in London. The speakers will include Jacqueline Dyer, vice chair of the Mental Health Taskforce in England, Joanne McDonnell, senior nurse for mental health and learning disabilities at NHS England, and Dr Jonathan Campion, director for Public Mental Health and Consultant Psychiatrist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Some of the topics that will be discussed include reducing the physical health side effects of medication, treating problematic cannabis use, and smoking cessation in mental health.
