A conference on the issues surrounding nurses prescribing medicine to alleviate patients' pain will be held on 22 September at the Hallam Conference Centre in London.Topics such as non-medical prescribing for pain, improving pain outcomes, medication management and overcoming possible barriers to effective pain management will be discussed at the event. Speakers include Linda Nazarko, a consultant nurse at Ealing Community Services and service lead for IV therapy and dementia at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust, Dr Barbara Stuttle, chair of the Association for Nurse Prescribing, and Professor Laserina O'Connor, the president of the Irish Pain Society.
