An event focusing on the use of telecare technology will take place on 28 and 29 April at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel. The event will focus on pilots conducted across Scotland by the Scottish government which used technology such as Skype to support families affected by issues like drug dependency and alcohol abuse who live in rural areas. Speakers include Professsor George Crooks, the medical director at NHS 24, and Heather Laing, the telecare lead and the senior manager at the community alarm telecare service for Edinburgh Council.
