CNO Summit will bring together nursing leaders

This year's Chief Nursing Officer Summit will have the theme of 'Leading change and creating value'.

Jane Cummings', the chief nursing officer for England's, annual summit will take place on 1 and 2 December, in Birmingham. The summit will be attended by 500 senior nurses, patient representatives, academics and other Arm's Length Bodies involved in shaping the future of health and care.

Speakers will include health secretary Jeremy Hunt, Dee Roach, director of nursing at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and Sam Jones, the director of new care models at NHS England.

Ms Cummings said: 'Bringing together representatives from different parts of the health and care system is a unique opportunity to take a whole and rounded view of the health economy, the opportunities and challenges it presents, and how we can learn from and support each other to make a difference to staff and the people we care for.'

Summit delegates will discuss the themes of population health, personalisation, productivity, safety and staffing, service transformation, innovation and improvement, developing and sustaining the workforce.

The Summit will also look at the achievements of the 'Compassion in Practice strategy' and the spread of the 6Cs which were launched at the CNO summit in 2012. They will also explore the development of a new vision and strategy.
