A framework to support nursing care of patients with liver disease and better identify symptoms, has been developed by the RCN and NHS Liver Care.
The framework recognises nurses' pivotal role in identifying, supporting and treating patients at risk or diagnosed with liver disease. The framework was part-authored by specialist liver nurses.
Janet Davies RCN director of nursing and service delivery said: 'This demonstrates the influence nurses have on patients' health such as preventive work to help patients make healthier lifestyle choices and spotting symptoms early.'
