Proposed changes to the GMS Contract are 'simply not feasible in practice', according to the BMA's General Practitioners' Committee.
In its official response to the contract consultation, submitted last month, the committee warned more than a fifth of GPs anticipated having to make clinical or nursing staff redundant if the changes were imposed. The BMA claims the revised contract could cost general practices £31,000 a year in QOF income due to increases in upper thresholds and the removal of the organisational domain.
The RCN has submitted a consultation response, but a spokesman told IN its submission was 'not for the public domain'.
