A new partnership that will focus on improving the care provided to patients with arthritis has been launched by Arthritis Care, and AposTherapy, a company which develops personalised, surgery and drug free treatment programmes for the condition.

A new partnership to improve care for patients with arthritis has been launched by Arthritis Care, and AposTherapy, a company which develops personalised, surgery and drug free treatment programmes.

The partnership, which will run for one year, will raise money for Arthritis Care through a variety of charitable events. It will also feature educational talks around lower limb arthritis and self-help management techniques to better inform and empower people to take control of arthritis pain.

‘We are delighted to be developing a partnership with AposTherapy to support more people living with osteoarthritis,’ said Judi Rhys, chief executive of Arthritis Care. ‘It is encouraging to see AposTherapy taking osteoarthritis seriously and coming up with an innovative biomechanical intervention for people with lower limb arthritis.’

The partnership will include a new Arthritis Care run lifestyle event on 10 September 2016 at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Birley Campus called Living Well with Arthritis: a happier and healthier you. The event is free to attend for anyone affected by arthritis. AposTherapy will also provide educational talks around lower limb arthritis and self-help management techniques to inform people on how to manage arthritis pain.

‘We want to help to expand Arthritis Care’s reach and raise awareness of the great work they do,’ said Elad Duschak, president of AposTherapy UK. ‘That’s why we have decided to raise money for Arthritis Care through a number of charitable activities including through sponsorship and making a contribution to Arthritis Care for each new patient that starts treatment during the year.’
