Jailed parent more damaging than parent's death
Having a parent in jail can be psychologically more damaging than the death of a parent, new research by the University of California has found. The study found that a child with an incarcerated parent was more likely to develop severe mental health problems, including behavioural issues and ADD/ADHD. 'Home comforts' in care homes
People in care homes should be allowed to keep their own furniture to help ease their transition into the new environment, the government has announced. Minister for care Norman Lamb said it was particularly important for people with dementia.
MenC booster for freshers
Students starting university this month are being urged by PHE to have a booster vaccination against MenC. A teenage booster is currently available for 14-year-olds. Students entering university will also be eligible for the vaccination until the teenagers who have had the booster at age 14 reach university age.
