NICE panel is searching for a community nurse

The NICE Centre for Guidelines is looking for community nurses and senior level nursing professionals to join the expert panel

The NICE Centre for Guidelines is looking for community nurses and senior level nursing professionals to join the expert panel.

NICE is looking to recruit nurses particularly with an interest in cancer to join the new panel in the Centre.

The purpose of the expert adviser panel for the Centre is to help NICE improve its access to expert advice during development and updating of clinical guidelines and other related products such as surveillance reviews.

A NICE spokesperson said: 'Our new expert adviser panel is being set up to help us get insights from frontline staff currently working in the NHS. Health professionals across a range of specialties will now be able to help shape NICE guideline as and when they can. We’re particularly interested in hearing from community nurses and senior nurses with an interest in cancer. Members of the panel will be able to advise on new evidence, share their expertise at committee meetings or perform peer reviews. We’ll regularly contact members of the panel with details of activities they can help with. All contributions are optional, we just ask that members let us know whether or not that can help out on each occasion.'

Members may be asked to contribute to activities such as giving advice for example on the impact of new evidence, participating in committees as a topic specialist member and performing peer reviews.

Appointments to the panel will be for a period of three years, but there is the option for a further extension.

Applications are open until 12 August and can be sent to Swapna Gavaskar-Mistry at ccpexperts@nice.org.uk
