In its quality standard on the diagnosis and treatment of asthma in adults, young people and children age 12 months and older, it adds that adults with new onset asthma should be assessed for occupational causes; people with asthma should receive a structured review at least annually; and those with difficult asthma offered an assessment by a multidisciplinary difficult asthma service.
