However, 26 groups were authorised with the condition to appoint a mandated board member, either an executive nurse or secondary care consultant.
Clinicians have now been authorised to take control of the NHS budget in more than three quarters of England's local health communities. The remaining 48 commissioning groups are set for authorisation this month.<
