The Burdett Trust for Nursing is requesting proposals for a new grants programme focused on empowering nurses and allied healthcare professionals to tackle obesity in children and their mothers. The charity is asking nurses to create plans to improve the outcomes of pregnant women with obesity and pre-and postnatal care for children with obese mothers. The charity is prepared to offer grants of £25,000 to £50,000 for small and medium sized projects, while more substantial projects on a regional or national scale are eligible for grants of up to £200,000. The charity is particularly interested in projects which demonstrate innovation, nurse leadership and the ability to enact behaviour change in obese parents. The deadline for applications will be midnight on 18 July.
