Why did you become a nurse?
I have always wanted to be a nurse and follow in my mum’s footsteps. I am originally from Nigeria and my mum was a Chief Matron back at home. I used to watch her get dressed in her white uniform, white hat and go off to work every day and always imagined myself doing the same when I’m older.
She loved to help people, even when she wasn’t at work, and I always wanted to be like her. Throughout my childhood, I would see her provide care for the community and she inspired me to carry on the family tradition following my move to the UK in 2007.
