Why did you become a nurse ?
I was 17, when I started work as a healthcare assistant. I have always been a very caring person by nature and I wanted to help others even from an early age.
How has your career developed since you started nursing?
I qualified as a paediatric nurse in 1995. Then I received a BSC Hons degree in 2001 and a masters level specialist public health nurse qualification in 2013. My paediatric career has also followed an interesting progression from general paediatric ward nursing to intensive care of neonates and then into a preventative community health role in 2008.
