A new exhibition at the Royal College of Nursing on Cavendish Square in London will highlight defence nursing from the First World War to the present day using items from the RCN archives as well as donations from current defence nurses. On 10 April a special event will see Corporal Stuart Robinson (who served in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan) open the exhibit and talk about his experiences of nursing care and rehabilitation — in February 2013 he suffered severe injuries including the loss of both his legs.
The exhibition itself will then be introduced by guest curators Major Chris Carter (Chair of the RCN Defence Nursing Forum) and Dr Claire Chatterton (Chair of the RCN History of Nursing Society). The event will conclude with a drinks reception.
