Doctors Louise Newson and Carrie Sadler have collaborated to create guidelines for the diagnosis and management of urogenital atrophy, otherwise known as genitourinary syndrome of the menopause (GSM). Vaginal dryness is common, yet underdiagnosed and undertreated. For clinicians and women, the actual terminology of this condition can be confusing. These new guidelines hope to straighten out the confusion and prepare all clinicians for the treatment of women of all ages.
