I have been working as a healthcare worker in my local practice but when I was younger I dreamed of being a nurse

I have been working as a healthcare worker in my local practice. When I was younger I dreamed of being a nurse and then maybe a health visitor but family commitments made it impossible. I was just wondering now the family are older and I have more free time, am I too old at 45 to start training and what help financial and practically can I get ?

This is a wonderful letter to get. At a time when the health sector is in desperate need for more professionals it is heartening to hear there is a new prospective cadre of future recruits. I am very pleased to confirm there is no upper age limit to start nurse training so your age is not a hurdle. However you do need to consider a number of issues before committing to a long and challenging journey.
