A new practicial guide for nurses on the nutritional management of patients with chronic kidney disease has been released by Abbott Nutrition.
The guide was developed by an expert panel in collaboration with the Renal Nutrition Group of the British Dietetic Association and is designed to help nurses and dieticians identify, assess and manage undernutrition in patients with severe CKD (stages 4/5) including those on dialysis.
Recommendations for screening, assessment and diagnosis, suggested interventions and monitoring procedures for undernutrition are included in the step-by-step guide.
