Why did you become a nurse?
I have always wanted to be a nurse. I can remember telling my teachers that I would be a nurse, and I never looked into doing anything else. I am so glad I did because I love my profession.
How has your career developed since you started nursing?
After I qualified in 2005, I stayed in Cardiff to work on the local infectious disease and gastroenterology ward, which had been my final ward as a student. I loved working on that ward and stayed there for six years, working up to be one of the senior nurses. I took a career break to work in Australia for six months in 2008. It was fascinating to witness the differences in healthcare provision. In 2009, I had the opportunity of a secondment to work as a hepatology
