Online resource for community nurses
The Queen's Nursing Institute
The Queen's Nursing Institute (QNI) has launched an online resource for community nurses working with carers. It was developed with funding from the DH and is free to access from the QNI website.
The resource is divided into seven discrete modules: supporting carers; assessment of carers; signposting carers; mental health, learning disability and dementia; end of life care; professional roles; and personal and professional development. Each module contains a quiz and a self-assessment exercise to consolidate learning. The resource also contains nine short films, about the challenges facing carers and those they care for.
